Sitting Out The Storm 01_28_06.jpg

I needed a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I needed to head to the canyon, the back country, the wilderness to restore my soul to its proper balance. Even if it would only be a short trip with the threating storm, I needed to go.

As the day went on the clouds thickened and dropped down the ridges. And after a short while Mother Nature started to spit her icy snow. First softly, with big floating flakes. The kind you like to catch on your tongue when you were a child and still do when you think no one is watching. We stayed as long in the canyon as we thought prudent. Then like these eagles; we retreated to our home to sit out the worsening storm.

It was a good day.

Bill
Have you considered doing a landscape workshop for photographers out there in Utah?
I'm ready to sign up.

from looking at these, I wouldn't have guessed that I was there the same day. It was a bit cloudy, but the sun came in and out. I guess I got up early enought. But these are still some fun shots!

A consummate professional as always. Love both shots. Your days are certainly more exciting than mine.

I love the weather feel of this one....the snow is great. I am almost a little jealous...we haven't even had winter in minnesota this year...and I can't believe I am saying that.
