The Yearling 01_05_06.jpg

Wanda and I spent the day in Utah's back country again today. This was one of my last photos for the day. The light had already faded from the nearby peaks when we spotted this little yearling mule deer buck. I couldn't have asked for better light and the pose from this little guy was perfect. It was the end of a perfect day.

Here is Wanda snow shoeing on the top of the world http://www.pbase.com/image/54460285

We spent the day again up on the Wasatch Plateau. This is looking back to the north. Yesterday we were snow shoeing on the ridge across the little valley. The mountain in the distance is "Wanda's Mountain" http://www.pbase.com/slowpokebill/image/54459525

Fantastic, great soft colors!

All three of these are very nice, Bill..I think I would have been a little nervous on the ridge Wanda is walking along the top of in the second shot - the snow line on the left side doesn't look real stable! Probably just the play of light and shadow. I always have to do a double-take on your deer photos..the mulies look SO different than the whitetails that I am used to from around here. I am not-so-patiently waiting for cold weather and snow to return (can you believe it's 55 here today?)...I have several images in mind and winter is not cooperating. Have a good one.

No blur used...except...good old fashion motion blur from my shaky hands trying to hand hold a 420mm lens at 1/80 sec out the passenger door window from the driver's seat. Thank you Canon for Image Stabilized lens.

Nice shot

I love the composition/framing, the light and the pose and agree with Steve that it looks like a glamour shot. But I think that is the issue I have with it. It looks a little too post-processed. Bill, did you use a Gaussian Blur? It looks a little overdone especially around the ears.

This is wonderful. With the lighting and pose, it looks like a glamour shot.

I'm with Janet. Love the 'Top of the World' pic and this 'buck shot' rocks!
