I took this photo standing in the garage. It was pouring rain.
I drove to Southern Utah today, for a very quick visit and to list a home for sale. While I was there taking photos inside the home...a violent thunder storm rolled into the area. It rained a couple of inches in about 30 minutes. These normally dry, 1200 foot, cliffs are about half a mile from the home.
There was major flooding in the area washing out major roads and bridges. Between floods and fires it has been a tough year for this area of Utah.
This picture, by Wes, was taken in the dry wash at the base of the cliffs about where the big fall would hit. This spot is called "Hell Hole" on the topo map. Today with the flash floods that name would really fit.
