Wanda01_09_05.jpg

Today Wanda and I have been happily married for 24 years. To celebrate we went to a very nice restaurant tonight. For 25 years I have always sat across the table from Wanda. I always tell people it is so I can gaze into her captivating blue eyes. It is the truth.

OK, I have to say I love the 20D. I took this photo in a dim restaurant. The light was horrible and from directly above the table. I'm sure people thought we were crazy. I was using the menu as a reflector while I took the photos. This photo was taken at 3200 ISO with just the light in the restaurant. No noise reduction has been done to the photo. Not bad for Canon's consumer DSLR with a cheap $70 lens almost wide open.

This was a difficult one to pose for. I felt like such an IDIOT! (laffin) The waitress kept coming over and asking "are you ready to order?" We kept sending her away. People must have thought we were nuts! Bill kept messing with his menu to get the light on My face "just right". . . . we even changed seats a couple of times just to see if the light would be better. (shaking head) I was of course feeling uncomfortable because I never did get use to posing in public places.

Can't you just hear Me saying between clenched teeth as I try to smile, "Take the Damned picture already!" ? (laffin) What a fun and memorable anniversary!

John, the lens is Canon's best value in their lens lineup. This was taken with the little Canon EF 50mmf/1.8 II lens. It is very sharp, focus is quick and accurate. Best of all you can pick one up from any of the better dealers for about $70. It is so good and so cheap it is almost a must have lens.

Bill, I’m impressed! Is this a Canon Lens that can step down to f-2.5? I can of course download the Russian Hack to be able to change the ISO to 3200 on the Canon Rebel D, but have been curious about the noise problem. Hmmm. Think I’ll go ask Wes since I notice he has a few images taken at ISO 3200 on his Rebel D. Oh Wes! , ….

Congrats on the 24 years!
Hope you get 24 more.
I'm impressed with the lack of noise at 3200!
I can't say that about any of the Nikon Coolpix line.
