Bill Red Lake hike 08_29_10.jpg

Photos can't always be pretty pictures; so, today you get my sorry old face. Wanda, Timber and I went for a hike up the canyon. She told me it was relatively flat. She lied! It was down one side of the canyon then up the opposite ridge. It was a rocky, steep, uphill both direction hike. I'm old, still overweight and sometimes I think she is trying to kill me; but, I fooled her and made the hike without having a heart attack.

Here is Wanda and Timber taking a break at the bottom of the canyon.

Bill, you look great ... and truly natural with the weapon at your side! I swear, anymore I would carry one of mine for the reason you indicated, the drug cartels. And I sill say the facial fur, (head pet?) looks great on you! Should have done it years ago!

The handgun is an old Smith & Wesson .44 Spl. handejector manufactured in 1946-47. It is an old, well used and cared for revolver with a little history. The previous owner was the somewhat notorious late Teddy Binion the owner of the Horseshoe Casino. If it could only talk.

Well you look great Bill and she loves you too much to kill you! You are both treasures, gifts to each other and to all of us who appreciate your talent and enjoy sharing a glimpse of your wonderful lives. It's true, I am being toally honest.....I never even saw the gun!

The area we were hiking has bears. Oh, and the Mexican drug cartels like to use the local national forest for drug grows.

A handgun is probably a good idea when you're hiking with Wanda. That will help keep the riffraff like me from getting any ideas about her :-)

(laffin) I wasn't trying to kill you! Just wanted you to see the places I've been and enjoy the scenery I love so much. I knew you could handle that "walk in the woods" just fine. See what good all the cycling you've been doing has done for ya? A few years ago you never could have handled that little jaunt. And I swear, it's all just a matter of perception. Compared to the 10 mile round trip hike to the top of "My Mountain", this walk really was relatively flat, short and easy!
