Motion by guest Photographer Ian.jpg

This photo was taken by my very good friend Ian http://www.pbase.com/happychap who came out to support me on my first century ride (100 plus miles) the Utah ULCER.

Yes I finished the ride 107.93 miles in a ride time of 7:41 hours and a total time with rest and lunch of just under 10 hours. Wanda was a huge help by keeping me company on this ride.

Here is a link to my thoughts on the ride http://www.teamwannabe.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=406&Itemid=39

Hey, nice to see you in front of the camera once in awhile. It was great to read about your century ride accomlishment and I echo your sentiments about the success of just getting out there and doing it. I'm a big fan of your photography and learn alot from your posts... keep up all the good work. Scott, also a Tour de Cure rider in Phoenix.

Sounds like a new marketing line for you Bill.

Another thought on bicycling togs for those of us that area heavier. Most of the manfacturers out there seem to only think skinny bean poles ride bikes. Finding things with a little fuller cut is really tough.

I think there is a huge market that is being ignored by most of the bicycling industry.

The shorts I'm wearing are the Castelli Dome Bibs in a XXL size. The seatpad is very comfortable. You have decent compression on your legs but the fabric breaths so well you almost feel like yopu are riding naked. I really love them!

I have been wearing some Pearl Izumi bibs for the last couple years but the pad was finally worrn out. I liked the Pearl Izumi line because they are cut a little bigger. I bought the Peral Izumi Micro with the 3D padsensor bibs to replace my old bibs. The Microsensor bibs and the 3D pad have to be the worst thought out and designed pad ever made. The stiching running around the pad is like having a buzz saw in your pants. Within the first couple miles you will be wondering if you are bleeding. Everyone i have talked to that has tried them has pretty much the same thing to say about them.

People also complain about the Pearl izumi scoop in the front not dropping low enough and cutting off breathing . I didn't find they cut my breathing much but it sure made taking a leak impossible with out getting naked.

Bill,

What bike shorts are you using? May I ask what size they are?

Thanks.

When my eye first saw the bike and colors I thought "Great another Wanda photo"
I am 70 with macular issues so I can be excused but then I looked closer and what a shock. Went on to read your thoughts and all I can say is. GOOD SHOW!!

I read your write-up on Team Wannabe. The best part was about your mother. :-))). I'm just a father but I know mothers never stop being mothers........

Bill,

Great job! Keep it up and you and Wanda will be doing long rides together (and hopefully giving her a run for the money).
