Tourists and Roman citizens cross the Angel Bridge on the Tiber River, which connects the Castel Sant' Angelo to the rest of Rome. This massive building with its heavily fortified walls was built in the mid-100's CE by the emperor Hadrian as a mausoleum for himself.
