Saturday morning started out warm and wet, by 0730 the first flakes of snow started falling. During the morning it built up and by mid morning it was a snow storm, the first for most of the Expats. Having been cross country sking in Victoria for a few years I was surprised at the wind velocity. Driving to Pirdop about 1430 had to stop 3 times for white out conditions, the remainder of the afternoon was spent looking out the hotel window at the storm as it passed over us.
To the locals it was possibly a non event but for us it was the first time most of us were exposed to these extremes in weather, all part of the cultural exchange.
