Skip & Ad's Most Excellent Adventure

This is a travelog of sorts, begun today, June 21, 2009. It's a trip Addison and I are taking based loosely on the trip in the movie, Elizabethtown. Our version is a bit of an exploration of musical roots as we go from home in South Carolina to a visit of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, where the film took place, and then a bit of a whirlwind tour of Nashville, Memphis, the Mississippi Delta blues heritage, and a visit to the recording facilities in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

We'll post some things here as we go so we can keep track of them and you can follow along on our way.

Wow- u covered some ground in MS that Matt and I have never seen! I have been to Morgan FReeman's bar....fun place and I agree the beer is VERY cold!

I had lots of post-exam celebrations on BEale street and midnight snacks at Blues City cafe....what fun u went there.

Hey, Skip, back in town, ready to view your other stuff from deep down in the Delta. These photos take me back, even the ducks at the Peabody. (BTW, it's Robert Johnson, not Tommy.) The whole crossroads things goes all the way back to western Africa...I'll tell you. You guys must have had one hell of a time. Did tell the folks at Shack Up that we are friends?

W0W! I am impressed so far with your documentation. I was so glad to see those photos of both of you. I miss you so much. The photo of Addison reminded me of Will Runge. I don't know why.
