Stockyards Tower, Canaryville

This apparently used to be some sort of hotel - it's one of the only surviving structures that comprised the Chicago Union Stockyards, which closed in the 1970s. The infamous 1968 Democratic convention was held just a stone's throw from here, no pun intended.

That is the Stockyards Bank. There was a Hotel there also, but it was not part of the bank

Thanks for the clarification - there was a sign on it that said "hotel" when I took the picture, but perhaps that was one of its later uses ...

no; it used to be the stockyard national bank. Evidently it was common to model buildings of this type on Independence Hall in Philadelphia.
