DIY shoelaces, why?
Because they are expensive considering that they are basically just two pieces of string.
And it seems like it is getting harder and harder to find the correct length and color.
At Wal Mart you can buy 48 ft. of string, about the cost of one pair, for $2.47.
They can be dyed just about any color but because they wont stay tied you should use
cord locks to solve the problem, they come in many colors, look at the picture below, I just happened
to have some black ones.Brown seems to be nonexistent, maybe translucent would work.
What is a cord lock and how much do they cost, Just Google "cord lock plastic", they are dirt cheap.
If you want to pay more, Google "Shoe Lace Lock".
You will of cause need to melt the ends with a match or a lighter after you have cut them to length.
Great idea! We have many different styles and colors of cord locks at strapworks.com. But your right, we don't have brown, but we are looking for them. We also have some parachute cord in black and white that work perfect with these cord locks. I will let you know if we find the brown cord locks.
