Ouch

Proof that as careful as you try to be, accidents do happen.
The camera and lens were as always attached in my bag with extra padding under the lens to support it better and strapped in place, the bag only rolled off my bed and fell a foot onto my floor, sadly when I opened the bag everything came in kit form.
My D200 has a twisted lens mount and although it powers up is very rattly inside, my 17-55 f2.8 is in worse state, the whole rear mount has been torn out and the zoom is very notchy, total replacement is going to be around £2200.....hope the insurance company are going to be kind.

Thankfully I still have my D100 and the 24-85 I first started out on Pbase with so many years ago :)

I know what it feels like, as I had a 80-400 fall off the tripod; co-op insurance made it less painful
