I bought this camera in November 2011. There are quite a few bad reviews on it in Amazon, but there are also quite a few good reviews if you search. This one hasn't froze up on me yet, the lens hasn't gotten stuck either. I hope that will not happen. It can take nice photos, but seems to have difficulty focusing on some things. I had a hard time getting an in focus shot with the third photo in this album. The camera couldn't seem to focus on the brilliant orange leaves. I took pictures of the tree at about three different times of day and one of them finally came out pretty nice. It might have been because I took it off Auto Focus and changed it to Center Focus.
Four Months later I decided to replace this camera. The image quality just wasn't that good for landscape shots, a part of the image was always blurry in every landscape photo I took. Macro shots were good, but the camera couldn't focus on tiny flowers unless I forced it to by focusing on my hand held next to the flower. The videos are good. It is a good small camera for taking photos of wildlife, but I replaced it with a Panasonic DMC-ZS8. For a small camera it takes very nice landscape shots. It also has a spot focus mode so I can focus on tiny wildflowers. It is an excellent camera to have with me all the time at Boyce Thompson Arboretum where I work.
