This aloe survived the freeze with little damage. The flowers were killed and it had leaf tip damage. It was planted under a mesquite tree at the time. It used to be planted out in full sun, but was doing poorly so I dug it up and drug it on a small piece of plywood to this site and planted it under the mesquite. It's done much better here. It's one of my oldest aloes. I got it by mail order from Mesa Garden. The gariepensis has the yellow flowers. The other flowering aloes are aloe aculeata.
