Golden Eagle at Boyce Thompson Arboretum September 2006
On September 29, 2006 the Golden Eagle released by Adobe Mountain Wildlife Center. On September 16 it was spotted eating a kill on the High Trail. It stayed there for the nine hours the Arboretum was open so visitors were able to see it and take pictures. The next day the eagle was gone. All that was left of the animal it had been eating were tufts of fur, a piece of skin and one small bone. By the long-haired tip of tail left, colored in rings of black and white, we were able to determine the animal was a Ring-tailed Cat.
