The lighthouse on Little St. George Island (Florida Panhandle coast) fell over in October of 2005, after having the island shift underneath it. The 2005 hurricane season wasn't kind to the foundation. Volunteers brought barges out to the uninhabited island to bring back as much of the lighthouse as possible. The rubble is sitting at Eastpoint, just south of St. George. There are plans to restore the lighthouse on St. George Island.
