The San Antonio River walk is filled with lights at night during Christmas. It is a spectacular display of color and serenity.  Along the rivers edge you can see luminarios (candles lit in a bag). These are placed in a fashion to light the way for a procession called La Posada. It is a celebration of the Nativity, a reenactment of Joseph and Mary looking for lodging upon arriving in Bethleham.
