Titiek Sandhora used to be very very popular in Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia. She was a truly characterized singer and many other singers at earlier 70's, like Arie Koesmiran, Anita Tourisia, Laily Dimyati, Andriani, etc followed her way of singing.
Unfortunately her following records of Dangdut Melayu recorded by Golden Hands records distracted her fans' admiration since her fans wanted her to stay in pop. her comeback in 1975 to Remaco brought her to another debut in her lifetime career. When she was moving to another recording company, Flower Sound, decreased her popularity dramatically. Titiek Sandhora's fame was coming down slowly due to the latest recording company didn't accomodate her with quality home band and matched song writers. Titiek was left by her fans although she was still productive with so many different kinds of records. But People still enjoy now for what she has done in music. Titiek Sandhora built a certain image in her fans' minds.

actually there a lot of good indonesian singers including titiek sandhora and muchsin unfotunately most of their early recordings cannot be found in the market, not like the western singers for example nat king cole.we can still get his back dated catalogue.songs like si hitam by titek puspa or puteri dusun by emelia cannot get them in cd's.theses type of gems should be cataloged.i have a few lp's and singles of some of these indonesian artistes not forgetting the legengendary broery.
