Snow is generally a rarity here on Oregon's south coast, usually appearing no more often than once every seven years. In the last couple of years this traditional pattern has vanished, and we've had snow-- even down to the beach-- at least three or four times in each winter. On Christmas day, it didn't make it down quite that far, but snow did decorate this hill (roughly 500 feet in elevation), which I see when I step out my front door, directly to the east.
