Interpretation: Anything you like, as long as the main subject, (or
subjects), are human, & your image clearly conveys a sense of night.
Why I chose it: Photographing people at night pushes your equipment to
the limits & beyond. Since I started doing a lot of club photography,
I've found that being pushed out of my comfort zone this way has taught
me more about getting the most out of my equipment than anything else I
can think of. And while shooting good photos under abysmal lighting
conditions is a difficult technical challenge, it's also a good excuse
to have fun experimenting with unconventional shooting & lighting
techniques.
IIRC, you should name your submitted images with the assignment title
("NP"), your full name, & append "old" to the filename if you had to use
a stock/archive photo instead of a new one.
Eg: "NP-Lisa-Simpson.jpg" for a new image, or "NP-Bart-Simpson-old.jpg"
for a stock image.
Good luck!
Lionel.
Footnote:
I mean "sense of night" literally. As long as your shot /looks/ like
it's nighttime, it's in accordance with the assignment. I have no doubt
that some of us will come up with creative ways to make a daytime shot
look like it's night, & I'll be looking forward to seeing them. ;)
