LV: Breaking The Rules

"Breaking the Rules"

I'm looking for pictures that 'work' despite being structured in ways that
obviously break the 'usual' rules of composition. The centred subject, the
sense of movement that leads away from the frame, the main subject right on
one edge, these sorts of things. Sometimes, when a picture can be made to
work in ways that are outside the usual, it can be all the more powerful,
perhaps because of that element of surprise.

I know this may not be the easiest mandate to shoot specifically for, though
I hope people will find it an interesting challenge to try. However, you
may also find that you have in your archives that picture that took you by
surprise when you reviewed a day's shooting, the one that looked good when
you didn't expect it to, and that too would be a good one to submit. I'm
hoping we'll generate some controversy in the critiques, and some
interesting discussion.

Have fun, lawbreaker.
