Surf Scoter, 1 Nov 11, S. Holston River, Weir Dam

First year male (I think) Surf Scoter. The bird was about 150m up stream of the weir dam. I viewed the bird from within 15m, while standing on the bank. It was fairly tame and tolerated me squatting down watching it. I've never seen a scoter so close, let alone photographed one!
