la ticla is great......been there already two times and it is just awesome....perfect waves, good people, good and safe enviroment, worth it!!! definately worth it!!!

Do you remember a couple of guys from Utah?..(Jack and Cliff) I haven't been back since the early 80's. I am returning this winter sometime..I use to ride with the ice cream guy. thought his name was jorge. Do you remember the emergency drive in the middle of the night to deliver a lady to the doc so she could have a baby?

Yes, there are palapa available for rent on a nightly basis. Some have electricity. It's best to take a taxi from Tecoman to La Ticla. It's a very long walk from the highway down to the beach if you take a bus. Rio Nexpa is another great place to surf and hangout. It's a few hours south of La Ticla, near Caleta de Campo. Again, take a taxi down to Nexpa. Do a Google search for either one and you'll find additional information.

I am not a surfer but want to find a small mellow beach town to do some writing. I want to stay in an inexpensive palapa for one month, but need electricity for my laptop and maybe a small kitchen. Does this exist? Can I get there from Colima by public transportation?

We want to hit La Ticla around Christmas break. How do I get more information and directions to camp and make sure we are set up good when we get there? I have been to La ticla before but it's been about 10 years.

I can't beliee you are still there. I was a surfer from Texas who was at Ticla during in 1982, 83, 84, 85, 86. Yes, of course we remember you!!! The ice cream man! You gave me a ride to town a couple times, even helped me exchange some money in Tecoman. If I remember correctly, you were in some band or something like that. How are you? Hope everything is well. I see from others notes that Amalia is still there in Ticla also, cooking up food and taking care of people. Her kids must be grown by now! You may not believe this, but somewhere in a drawer I even have a sticker you gave me for your "Nieves Puntito" Great to her from you! I'll try to find it and post it for you.

I was in La Ticla in 2001 and we were blessed with an ice cream truck desguised as a Ford Fiesta. What an amazing place...truly one of my most memorable trips.
If the owner of this site gives me instructions, I can share some of my pics.

Around 1984 I was going to Ticla every weekend,lived in Tecoman for 35 years I met a lot of surfers from all over; my busines was selling ice cream on a VW van with a loud speaker at the top and of course with the gingles. I want to congratulate for this web site it's wonderful, also I would like to know if someone has pictures from back then beacause a lot of surfers took pictures of myself and the ice cream van.
