Old Timer travels 3000 km

To new home. A giant boab tree from WA's Kimberley has travelled 3000km
to be transplanted in KIngs Park in Perth.

The tree is thought to be more than 750 years old and had to be removed from the Kimberley town of Warmun on Sunday because of roadworks in the area.

It was then tied to a 25 metre truck for its 3,000 kilometre journey to Kings Park.

The boab is 14 metres high and weighs 36 tonnes.

Wow, that's amazing! I guess the tree is still alive although it seems to be quite bare!

Aw just fingers crossed they look after it, it would be awful to lose such a magnificent tree now!

That's an impressive old tree and some impressive engineering to move it.
