Fluke of humpback whale

Port Stephens

At this time of the year, humpback whales make their annual migration from the Antarctic heading north to the warmer waters of the Pacific. Hundreds pass by the eastern Australian coastline and some have even showed up in Sydney Harbour. The Australian Government is standing firm in the protection of species such as this and other whales. The whaling nations such as Japan, Iceland and Norway seem intent on destroying these magnificent mammals for so called "scientific purposes" - what a joke.
