Twin brushtail possums

Avalon, Sydney

This was taken in our garden with Canon Ixus by my husband Fred. Twin brushtail possums are very rare. They are not related to the American opossum but are a marsupial with a great liking for bananas which is why they appear to be smiling.

Thanks for your comment. We also have a female possum who is blind in one eye. We call her "H" which is short for Home Delivery as she waits in our centre gum tree for her daily intake of bananas. She must be getting fairly old now but is still having young.
Cheers
Sheila

I think that this photograph is beautiful! One of the possums that is in my garden has twin babies. I took some very nice photos of them on Saturday evening of the three of them, one is slightly smaller than the other. The mother travels with the smallest one on her back and the larger one trails behind. The mother is easily identifiable, as she is blind in her left eye.

No. They are sitting very close together but I agree it does look that way!
