Thanks for the examples with 70-300 L, Sheila. I'm currently considering buying this lens, and I think your pictures have taken me closer to a decision ... I'm also contributing to Alamy. Have you had any sales yet of pics taken with the 70-300 L?

The lens you are probably referring to is the 70-300 IS not the L. Anyway, after much deliberation I ordered this lens yesterday and can't wait to get me hands on it. Sheila, these picture are amazing.

These are pix are great, I can’t believe that came from one of these lenses. I purchased one and found my throw away rate went from about 5 to 10%, all the way out to about 80 to 90%. The lens never looked sharp and it was way to slow in the auto focus. Sold it & took a huge hit, only got 100 bucks it. Went to a 70 - 200 mm L series lens and would never go back. I also use a 5D Mark II.
