Meersbrook Park - the best preserved timber-framed house in Sheffield.
Built around 1500, it typifies the development of the smaller English domestic house in the 16th and 17th Centuries.
I pass this house every morning on my way to work but as it only opens, as a museum, on weekends, it usually has great big metal shutters
on the downstairs windows during the week to keep out vandals.
This morning I noticed they had been replaced by more discreet shutters so as I have started to carry my Fuji 6900 with me to work, at lunchtime, I legged it up (and I mean UP - this is Sheffield!) the hill to the top of the park and snapped away, watched by two amused workmen just off camera.
Wahay an outdoor shot at last!
