8 January: One Pound Note

Before they went out of circulation - over 25 years ago I believe - I obtained a mint £1 note and still have it saved along with a 4d World Cup winners stamp (unused so not worth anything) which no doubt will make it to PAD one day!

Nikon D200 ,Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro
8s f/32.0 at 105.0mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

So much lighter than a pound note coin.

Showing my age here, I have a mint 10sh. note somewhere - now you've given me an idea Sheena, all I have to do is find it!

I did likewise, except that I kept three - put in an album.

In 1966, I posted a World Cup first day cover set from Guernsey whilst on holiday there (the standard UK issue). I presume your 4d version is one of these!

Blimey - bet it's worth a mint now!
