The Grandview trail is located in the southern side of Big Bear lake, there are multiple trails in the area, outlined by the Trail Book. The trail head was nearby the lake drive, the weather was mild when we pulled in the parking lot; its air was cool for a good day hike. The trail head was rated as moderate in the guidebook, and took ~3 hours hike in the moderate uphill ~30 degree slope. The parking lot at the trail head required a self-parking permit which could be purchased at a nearby lodge. Near the top, the trail was rather flat for a short while nearby the peak. The trail markings were a bit confused at the open road near the top.

Our climb was in the October time frame, the trees started to turn their colors for the fall, as seen on the trail scenery, yet not at its prime; the weather was very pleasant which was a plus for this activity, the summer weather was surely warmer. We stopped and had snacks from time to time, and hiked uphill at a moderate pace.
