Crackling with vibrant vigor. The heart of tomorrow blazes with wild electric fury.None of us can stomp it dead into darkness. While its spears of sparks lick fiercely in a thousand directions like poisonous medusa tongues.Igniting us with nervous fascination.

Perfect contrast. Strong photo, give us the feeling of these kids. Congrats.

It's definitely a great capture Kal. I love when you make photos such as this one where we can feel the excitment of the kid just like we where there by your side as you were taking the photo :))

Oh perfect joy and there are moments, like this, that are sheer bliss!

Yipeeee! You capture all of the explosive excitement and anticipation of Chinese New Year! Now, break out the Royal Salute and let's get down to a serious game of Mahjong.

Excellent capture. I like how the hooded figure is cropped off at the top - for whatever reason, I think it makes the image more appealing. Great shot!

I love this one. So dynamic and filled with the exuberance of the children.

(another) great b&w conversion Kal...
love this strong street shot...

This image is built around the tension created by a toe in the fire, a fist raised to a face, and fingers reaching for a back. Everything else is abstracted form -- it's the moment in time that relates toe, fist, and fingers that expresses the idea. Beautifully composed, Kal. What a salute to the new year!

What a great action shot of these children. The B/W is perfect for the scene with the sparklers. The hand extending from the right is so full of emotion.; the faces full of emotion, too. Nice work.

Excellent shot. I like the silhouettes - works well in b/w - nice work.
Guest 28-Jan-2006 15:22
Silhouettes, again... this is another great one, Kal. I love the mood here. We can feel something of this event even if we don't know exactly how they celebrate the New Year there.

Excellent Kal. Love the contrast between shadow and highlight. The guy in the hood comes across as if they are doing something wrong. Well done!
