The intent when taking the picture was to create the feeling of a river, so in that sense the "waves" of light are deliberate Peter. I must admit that when I posted it, the main distraction to me was the bright wave just right of centre, so probably an example of what you are saying. It is always useful to understand what other people see in your images. As the photographer, you see what you took, and because of that can never be a neutral observer. Kal, I am a fan of blur and like strong colours, but I am not sold on the "jumping lights" here, they create some kind of check marks that I find distracting. Apart from this it IMO would have been a good image, with a certain mood of marching people, it has an impact on me, but I just can't get over the jumping lights, they create too much distraction.
