Thanks Phil and Marisa. The tilt was deliberate, intended at the time to emphasise/compliment the angle of his head and create a more dynamic movement of the food in to his mouth. The foreground was intended to lead us to the subject and create a three dimensional effect. It struck me after reading Marisa's and your comments Phil that the tilt has emphasised that space/time effect even more than I had intended. Something I will remember to use in the future where necessary.

Marisa makes a good point here, Kal. You have indeed explored an "identity between both time and space" within this image -- you freeze the food going into his mouth as his world seems to decay around him. Its incongruity is based on the fact that while he nourishes his body, he is oblivious to his surroundings, which seem to lack such "nourishment." The tilted perspective disorients him, and rude slabs lead us to his dirty throne of old brick and stone. Meanwhile, a pipe seems to be attached to his body, as if it was a drain on the spirit. That crack between the buildings, the gaping empty window, and the crumbling wall all suggest poverty, disintegration and decay. In a way, he can be interpreted as a metaphor for people everywhere, who manage to survive in the present, yet are tethered to a broken and littered past. He carries his belongings in a small bag on one arm, eats with the other, and sits within a rotting infrastructure, and never seems to notice where he is or why he is there.

What I like in this pictures is the voluntary ( I guess)not straight perspective, as if also the ground wanted to stress the quick timing and the movement, an identity between time and space. Fascinating texture.
