She is 17 years old and gave us a good scare. Sunday night I did my usual 'check you out' inspection and found a huge egg sized lump on her back. I couldn't find an Avian Vet anywhere so had to wait until Mon. Avian Vets are scarce and wouldn't you know, my vet was out on Monday. I pampered her all day yesterday and then took her in this morning. The doctor had never seen anything like it but, without going into detail of the why and how....it was a pocket of air!!! She (the vet) was going to take a sample of fluid from the lump and there was nothing but air in there. This was a big air bubble under her skin! She's fine, she was never in any pain that showed and now is back in the aviary with her buddy Billy. The little dickens! I think she just wanted a car ride!

UPDATE: It breaks my heart to say but, the pocket of air came back again. This time it had fluid in it too and after a biopsy was done, it was found to be cancer. We had our little Scottie girl put to sleep a few days after the news. She was a little angel and I prayed for Bobbie and Gertie to meet her on her passage to a new time and place. I miss her.
