The Solar Eclipse of 2017

A trip up to Oregon to see the Solar Eclipse of August 21, 2017. I stopped at a motel about 100 miles south of a rest area off of I-5, just about 2 miles south of the centerline of the totality path. I left the motel about 3:30 in the morning and when I got to the rest area it was already pretty full. Viewing time of the totality at that location, was just about 2 minutes. It took about 7 hours to return to the motel after the end of the eclipse as people who had been arriving for the eclipse most of the prior week, all left at the same time :)
A lot of cars got there very early. Fortunately, they opened up a whole field for all the cars coming in.

My car, and hat-covered cameras getting ready for the big event. You'll notice, a lot more cars have arrived :)

By the time the complete eclipse ended, not too many cars remain :)
