I want to send out my thanks to everyone who served with my dad, Bob Lenczycki. He never wanted to tell me a lot about Vietnam, but I eventually got some info out of him in the eighties. I still have a paperweight that says "937th Combat Engineers" and I asked him about the white square on the red background. My dad flew a slick, and said the square was a castle, and that his call sign was castle 15 (if I remember correctly). He arrived at Qui Non and shortly after that the unit moved to Pleiku, and that he had a co pilot named Bob Yates. He went back to the states after one tour and was an instructor at Ft Rucker until I was born.

So everyone who served with him, I owe you my life, and the lives of my family. Thank you. My father passed away on 4 July 2007, but one of the last and most profound things I learned from him was the strong sense of family that he shared with everyone who wore the uniform, past and present - he never forgot you. God bless you all.

My name is Gerald Elkins. I was in HHC 937th Cbt.Engr. Gp. from April 1967 to March 1968. I was there for TET in January 1968. I drove for Col. Marshal and carried a commoMOS. I was also the guy who put out the "Engineer Courier" with Lt. Stafford Betty. I have been in touch with Betty and have video calls withHenry Hoorweg every week. He was the legal clerk. Love to hear from guys I was there with.

I am looking for all my buddies that i served with in Vietnam I was stationed in Cu chi with 5/2 artillery Dusters in March 68 to March 69 Attached to 25th, Inf Wolf Hounds. I left as a Sdt. E5 Sqd. ldr. also served with Mustan Sally and Funky Broadway In Areas like Cu Chi, Dau Tieng, Nui ba Dinh, Tay ninh,. Looking for friends I served with. Andy Gastelum, Don Risner. I served wthe the IFFV - First Field Force Vietnam in 1969. I was attached w/the 13thMHD. We observed actions and then produced operations report lessons learned. A lot of intervention with the ARVN. Not good! By the way, the patch for IFFV is listed incorrectly on the page. You have it as 2 Field Force. The sword pointing straight up is IFFV's. Thanks to all who served, we did the right thing no matter what the world thought of us then. Now we are heroes, ha!

I came from Ft Bragg with HHC 159th Engr Gp (Const) to Long Binh 28 Oct 1965. Unit officially became operational 30 Oct under MACV. There was absolutely nothing there. They trucked us from the port and left us on the hill to dig in. From those (really) humble beginnings came the Long Binh military compound and ultimately the largest ( I believe) US military installation in Vietnam. I served as E-5 in HHC 159th and rotated out May 1966.

ROBERT WESLEY KERR sister contacted me today 6/29/09. She is looking for any information on her brother Robert Kerr. I was a very close childhood friend of him.
I served in Vietnam from 69-70. I was with the 3/11 ACR
He lost his life in Vietnam.

I hate to tell you this but the caption under first and second Field forces are transposed. The caption stating that the patch is of the second field force is actually the first field force. I served in that unit in 1955/56.

My father wasSgt. Daniel H. Mcguirl he served in the 1st of the 9th from jan of 70 to jan of 71, infantry division, he was from Fort lee NJ. If anyone knew him during the war his children would love to hear from you. He has 3 children, one of whom just returned from afghanistan and served as a lt in the 82 airborne division as an army ranger. He died very young at age 55 on new years eve in 2004. My father is Gary Parascand....I have his Kangaroo Pin, and 5-6 photo albums full of pictures from his time in Vietnam. He passed five years back. I never really knew what he did or much about anything that went on over there. He never wanted to talk about it and I can respect that, but I've been curious. I know Sgt Benson (Ben) is living in Utah. My father and him talked before he passed. I actually talked with him as well. Hope all is well in your lives.

Mike - I was in the 79th Engineer Co. (Bridge Provisional ) In Long Binh between 1970-71 I was a Sp4 in the 3rd Platoon, served with Drake Nueman, Wayne Weinberger, Sgt. Benson, Gary Parascand. Having trouble finding out a lot of info about the old company. We had red kangaroos painted in the stars of our equipment. I served Viet Nam '70-'71 with the 79th engineers-Long Binh.- 20th Brigade. We wore a special hat pin--a red kangaroo with a white star over it. I am desperatly seeking that pin. Can anyone help me?

The M.A.A.G. Vietnam patch must have been authorized after I left country in 1952. At the time I was in country (Sept 51 to Nov 52) we were known as M.A.A.G. iNDO-CHINA.
