As a veteran and former member of DASPO, I am surprised and disappointed you didn't memtion that the 55th evolved from Department of the Army Special Photographic Office after the end of the Vietnam War. Former members of DASPO were part of the 55th at Fort Gillian, Ga. and later at Fort Meade, Md. The unit went through several name changes during the 1980's. You may have gotten your name from the 55th Repair Company from World War Two, but you got your heart from DASPO and our service in Vietnam.
