I happened across the World Sand Sculpture Festival, purely by chance as I passed through Brighton. Intrigued, I paid my money and took a look inside, where I found the most astounding sculptures. The festival has a Roman theme, and contains scenes from the coliseum, Roman baths and depictions of gods and battles. They were all artistically impressive, and some were just huge; there were little comedic touches that I enjoyed too.

I think something that particularly impressed me was the transient medium of the sculptures; to invest your time and talent creating something which will be destroyed sooner rather than later. I'm sure it encourages a healthy attitude towards the impermanence of life.
