I arrived in Kathmandu on 22nd August 2010 from Delhi.

It may be monsoon, but even so it is an amazingly photogenic city!

All around the Old City are little shrines set into walls, or freestanding in courtyards. Hindu and Buddhist deities nestle next to one another. Religion must be such an important part of the population's lives, as almost without exception the holy figures have offerings on them, and are annointed by abhir, red paste.

I'm loving the capital . . . can't wait to see what the rest of the country's like.
