Boracay

The Island of Boracay is probably THE tourist destination in the Philipines. I was there in low season, and there were not a lot of tourists around - those that were there were predominately Filipino, Japanese and Korean, which meant that by day the White Beach was pretty deserted - which I loved!

I am so glad that u have posted those photos....I've only been there once in my college days with my BS-HRM class...it's not easy for me to ask money from my parents back then coz it's really expensive out there 'well for me'...and i promised myself that i will be coming back with my parents...and tom will be my flight back to Philippines (i'm working in Singapore now)and my dream has come true! I also want to take good photos such as yours...keep it up...love you for sharing...lolz!

Nice serie of Boracay's atmosphere... It reminds me the few nice and and relaxing days I spent in november 1989 there...when the principal activity was to seat on the beach to look at the sunset every evening...

Hi Serena!

I was surfing the net for "scuba diving in the Philippines" in general when I luckily stumbled upon your website.

I am Filipino but currently based in Dubai and am here on vacation. I envy you. You have been to more places in my own country than me...I've only been to Boracay, Cebu, Puerto Galera and Banaue (I grew up in manila).

I also envy you for your great photography skills and artistic creativity. Like you I am also into scuba diving and have picked up photography as a hobby late last year. I really, really like your photos.

Thanks for your nice pics especially on boracay, I haven't been there for a while (last visit was 1998...on honeymoon with my loving and beautiful wife). I was tempted to go there last week as part of my vacation itinerary, but we ended up deciding to go to El Nido in Palawan, plus a side trip to the famed Underground River (a World Heritage Site). I also plan to visit all the top tourist destination spots in my home country...before traveling elsewhere in the planet.

I hope you plan more trips back to our beautiful country...and many thanks for promoting our country through your nice photos and website.

Your pictures are really beautiful. We spent nearly three months there 20 years ago exactly; it was a real paradise, with very kind local people, no electricity, very few bungalows and travellers from US, Europe and Australia mainly; the owner of our cottage prepared a grilled pig for Christmas. It still seems a lovely place.

I read through your adventures from the Cordilleras down to Cebu, what an energy! I initially referred your Boracay pics to some friends in Spain wanting to know about the Philippines thinking these pics were taken by a local. Your other gallery pics are quite nice as well.

Wow, amazing pictures :) really like the pictures of Boracay beach. i just visited boracay 3 months ago and im writin a diary about it. im havin fun remembering the snorkeling and other stuff i did in boracay w/ my family. i really appreciate it that i can c pics from this lush and tropical paradise. the pics make me feel like im back to boracay. boracay is truly the best beach i've been in my lifetime -_-

Great shots!!! I was born in the Philippines and still remember our family vacation to Burakai when I was still a little kid (this was 18+ years ago)... it was as close to a tropical paradise as I can imagine. We were practically the only living souls there... I'm sure it's gotten somewhat busier since then, but all my memories of this place were magical.

You're a wonderful photographer.
