General Van Antwerp, second from left, commander of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers in Washington, D. C., toured the Spillway today. He and an entourage rode across the entire structure from the Norco end to the Montz end and back on the open-air rail trolley.
Unlike some of the Corps' other projects in Louisiana, the Spillway operates efficiently and is well managed.

The gauge at the Spillway today was the same as when it opened for the ninth time on April 11. With more snow and rain up north it will not go down anytime soon.
