Great Hall at New Orleans Museum of Art Welcomes George Rodrigue

NOMA in City Park

George Rodrigue, born in New Iberia, Louisiana, has been an artist for most of his life and his paintings are known around the world, especially his "Blue Dog". However, this is the first time he has exhibited at the New Orleans Museum of Art. The show will run through June and it is wonderful to have a Louisiana native so honored. He is a true Cajun, humble and unassuming.
The painting in the photo is one of his very first and the table scene is also from one of his very first, only it had men sitting at the table with the women standing and serving.
I wish I could have removed the silver man at the head of the stairs and placed Blue Dog there.

In his blood! Creativity must flow naturally onto the canvas.

Beautiful painting and great blue dog! He gets the oscar for all his work...that is the silver man standing behind it!
