Plantation History Awaiting Restoration - "Les Reprise"

Laura Plantation - Vacherie, Louisiana

This was a smaller house that the lady manager of the plantation built for her retirement. After she retired as the manager of the plantation she would sit on the balcony of this house and still give orders. The big house has been restored and is shown below.

There's a nice after-the-rain sort of feeling about this. I like those spots of rust color against the blue. Very pleasing.

I would really like to see this after restoration, I'll bet it was beautiful in it's day. The palm trees are gorgeous!
