Sunflower

Metairie, Louisiana

"The heart grieves for what is lost, the spirit rejoices over what is left."
Unknown author.

During Katrina's winds, trees were blown over and smashed my daughter's pretty garden house. The flood waters came and washed things out of it. One was a big bucket of sunflower seeds that she kept for the birds. The bucket floated in the water emptying the seeds as it went along.
Many sunflower plants have sprouted in her yard and neighboring yards from the seeds.
