I love Pellicans----Oh a wonderful bird is the pellican, it's beak can hold more than it's belly can.

This is what I picture when I envisage myself in Louisiana.

Nice shot

A tall one and a short one. What a pair.
Karen Stuebing12-Jan-2006 11:49
Great shot. I like the elongated look of the one with the squat pose of the second. Percocet and valium for the back. Just kidding. Lots of Alleve and hot baths and hope you feel better soon.

Good shot. I think they want you to adopt them as you did the swans.
Guest 12-Jan-2006 08:59
Nice one. Good detail and lighting. Maybe cropped a little tight on the bottom left corner.

I like the light on the post there. Don't overdo things with that back.
Guest 12-Jan-2006 05:06
Dear Colleen; these pelicans are just great. You are a good photographer, and don't ever think otherwise. I'm sorry your back still hurts, but I know you will get better and be out and around soon. Sincerely Al Lee.

I dunno WHY but I always picture these guys with cigars . . . . .
Karen Leaf12-Jan-2006 03:00
A bit satisfied with himself is that back one. Again with the great light.
Take it easy. MG is right around the corner :)

Nice shot. Hope your back gets better Coleen.
Hubert Steed12-Jan-2006 02:06
Wonderful photo... like the close crop and fine composition. Those pelicans show a bit of contented puffed up character. Good eye to catch it all... Try to keep mobile for more good pictures and get plenty of rest...
Guest 12-Jan-2006 01:49
Looks like you got pretty close this time Coleen. This image somehow has a wintery feel to it.
Guest 12-Jan-2006 00:41
Darling little pelicans! Sure hope your back is better soon. Back injuries are horrendous. Even doing nothing hurts.
Robin Reid12-Jan-2006 00:29
Take good care of that back Coleen. No fun to have that. I like your buddies here.
J. Scott Coile12-Jan-2006 00:24

Great shot, these birds always have that self satisfied look, almost selfish.
royalld11-Jan-2006 23:12
I like the nice glow from a setting sun on the pilings
and on the feathers of these stately looking birds.
Antonis Sarantos11-Jan-2006 22:57
