Exactly four months after Katrina

Bancroft Drive in New Orleans

This is my cousin's house. It is in one of the toniest sections of New Orleans and her backyard slopes into Bayou St. John.
There was eight feet of water in her house and six feet of it sat for several weeks. One look inside the front window makes you sick. Her books and belongings sit mildewing and the smell of rotted vegetation is everywhere. I notice that her food freezer is still on the curb. Very sad.
There is still no electricity or gas in this area and the insurance companies have not paid a penny. Come to think of it, I have not seen a penny either from my insurance people.
And, the Mayor says "Come home to New Orleans". Come home? To this?

Well presented. It has turned lives upside down! Don't even get me started on the Mayor :(

I cannot even begin to imagine how you must feel with such devastation. I think of you often and all those who have been affected. Perhaps your photographs could end up in the hands of someone who will make a difference. At the very least you are helping to show the world how much the community is in need of our help. Keep up the good work Coleen!

Coleen, if I read the first book of Samuel, or the first book of kings, correctly, our heavenly father told us not to set rulers over ourselves, and then he laid out whatr would happen if we did. Well it's all come to pass in spades. Now we have many forms of government, all promising much but delivering little or nothing. Your Friend Al

All I can say Coleen, is that I know just how you feel. We are in a never ending nightmare.

Coleen you are making me dizzy,, but I know how you feel. Some people do not even have sheetrock in their house, and then some haven't even came home yet.

(Wasn't this picture orientated differently when I first saw it?)
Four months is a long time in our cell phone and microwave society.
It is hard sometimes to FULLY realize what so many people are living through.

It's bad enough that your world gets turned upside-down, but for these companies to take in mega-billions and not pay out - that's just not right.
