Blanche Newswom, one of the entertainers at New Orleans City Park annual "Celebration in the Oaks." He is from Boutte, Louisiana in St. Charles Parish.
Although this year's event has been greatly scaled down because of Hurricane Katrina's devastation, last night's party was attended by 4,000 people determined to help the Park's finances and to bring some normalcy into their lives.
On this night the Botanical Garden was rocking.
