Carrying out my oak floors

Home

When I think of what that oak block flooring cost and you can't even get this quality anymore.
This is a young man I hired at $100 a day. He is a high school student and has helped pull up the floors and carry them to the pile of debris on the curb; has helped clear the back yard of debris washed in from God-knows-where; has cleaned my flower beds enough that I found my box turtles.
We have no banks opened and no way to get money without driving 50 miles. Gasoline is in short supply so we stay close-by. Thank goodness I had a stash of money put aside for hurricane evacuation or we would really be in a bigger mess then we are in.
The flooring is original to the house and when our four children were little I would spend hours waxing the wood blocks and buffing them to keep them looking nice. All these years of work destroyed in a few short hours by one Parish President who had no common sense.

other sizes: small medium original
