Our youngest son was married in this Church.
This church is raised off the ground but was not high enough to escape the flood waters. Though water barely got in--you can see by the marks on the bottom of the pews-it caused enough damage to cause weeks of work. Many people will be on their knees, literally, cleaning and oiling the wood.
Because of the stupidity of a handful of politicans New Orleans suffered all this flood water from broken canal levees. Millions of man hours and lots of manpower and hardwork will go into restoring all that has been damaged. It is still darkened because most of New Orleans is still without electrical power.
