Well into the night the cars crept down the River Road escaping metro New Orleans and many were on the road when the first feeder bands of wind and rain began.
Quite a few cars pulled into our driveway to either switch drivers, change a baby or take a stretch since they had been on the road for hours in clogged traffic.
Coleen Perilloux Landry retains the international copyright not only for the original image but also for any versions of it.
